This compassion is from God and has miracle-working power in it.
But we're never going to be that until we begin to understand that we are directed to follow this love and let it guide us. He wants to flow through us to other people and use us as an instrument of His love, to be His hands and feet to them.
It's easy to get so busy with our own lives that we forget the people around us may need something from us. If we're going to live the abundant life that God has given us, we need to stir up our heart of compassion and say, "God, open my heart and my eyes to see the people who need my love today." If it is shut off, God's love cannot flow out of it. We all have a heart of compassion that God wants to work through toward others, and it can either be open or shut. In the same way, the apostle John says about us, "If es his brother in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live in him?" (1 John 3:17). Jesus didn't just feel sorry for those in need. They couldn't see Him, but I bet they could feel His compassion as He touched their eyes and healed them.Ĭompassion is powerful. Jesus stopped in His tracks, called them, and looked them right in their faces. Two blind men heard that Jesus was passing by and cried out, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!" (Matthew 20:30). He had compassion on the widow who was weeping for her dead son and raised him from the dead (Luke 7:14). When Jesus saw the multitudes, He had this deep inward moving of love to heal the sick and feed them miraculously. Have you ever noticed the relationship between the compassion of Jesus and His miracles? All through the Gospels we read that wherever Jesus went He was moved with compassion for people. I have increase that goes beyond your calculations." I have blessings that will catapult you years ahead. I will bless you beyond your normal income. You haven't seen the immeasurable, limitless, surpassing greatness of My favor. All the calculations are telling you that you'll never get out of debt, but God is saying, "You need to get ready. You don't see how you can ever rise any higher and accomplish your dreams. You may think your situation is permanent.
It's so amazing you know it had to be the hand of God. It's out of the ordinary, and it's not small. It means a "sudden, widespread increase." That's what God wants to do for us. That's how the word "explosion" is defined. In another translation of today's Scripture, the apostle Paul said that we would see "the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor)." That's favor as we've never seen before.
